Chinese Gender Predictor

The centuries-old Chinese gender chart guesses boy or girl from the mother’s age and the month of conception. A playful tradition — not science!

Remember: This is an estimate, not medical advice. Dates and figures are general guidance — every pregnancy is different. Your healthcare provider’s assessment, especially from an early ultrasound, always takes priority. Always speak with your provider about your pregnancy.

Common questions

How does the Chinese gender chart work?

The traditional chart cross-references the mother’s lunar age at conception with the lunar month she conceived to predict boy or girl. Legend says the original was buried in a royal tomb near Beijing centuries ago.

Is it actually accurate?

No — there’s no scientific basis, and studies put its accuracy at around 50%, the same as a coin toss. It’s a fun tradition, not a medical tool.

How can I really find out my baby’s sex?

A mid-pregnancy ultrasound (usually around 18–22 weeks) or genetic testing such as NIPT (from about 10 weeks) are the reliable ways to find out — if you want to know before birth.
